THE PRICE OF A CUP OF TEA

 

Assam is a state in northeastern India that produces more than half of the country's tea and is the world's largest tea-growing region.

 

According to the World Bank and several NGOS, these workers earn $1.50 a day, are not paid overtime, and live in extreme poverty-stricken conditions in decrepit living quarters, lacking basic hygiene and sanitation.
