Under-age Afghan children working in the fishing industry in the Caspian sea; North of Iran.
As some Afghan refugee children are given rights and public sympathy, others continue to face deportation and discrimination in Iran. It is believed that there is an abundance of undocumented Afghan children living in Iran, leaving them with an uncertain future. Yet, the hope for security and a better life has made them resistant to hard labor. Although "undocumented" Afghan refugees cannot work legally, children are often used and recruited in the fishing industry. From a landlocked country, without a swim-vest or any knowledge of swimming, the Afghan children who have never seen the water mass, find work in the fishing industry, working exhausting hours on the boat catching fish or mending nets, hoping to earn a small daily income.
